The Hunter Gracchus

The Hunter Gracchus from Glenn Stillar on Vimeo.
This independent short -- “The Hunter Gracchus” -- is based on a short story of the same name by Franz Kafka.

In Kafka’s story, the Hunter Gracchus falls to his death while out hunting a ‘chamois.’ The Boatman who was to ‘ferry him to the other side’ gets lost, or just loses interest in his cargo. So, the Hunter is doomed to sail all the waters of the world – forever. Neither alive nor dead. He is perplexed by this predicament, because, as he says, “I was a Hunter. Is that something bad?”
However, the Burgomaster of Riva (roughly, the ‘mayor’), is told by a dove one night that the Hunter will arrive in the port.
